The Library
The Library of Alexandria burned. Nobody agrees on how. Everyone quietly agrees on who mostly got to write what was in it.
The one name most people know is Hypatia — mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, the last head of the Alexandrian school, murdered by a mob in 415 CE for being too visible, too influential, too much a woman doing this in public. She gets treated like the exception. She wasn't. She's just the one history couldn't fully erase.
For every Hypatia, there's an archive of women's thinking that was never copied twice, never cited, never called “philosophy” at all — just letters, diaries, gossip, witchcraft, hysteria. The fire didn't start that erasure. It just finished a job that was already underway, and it never really stopped.
That's the actual reason Chicana Hippie exists. Not a vibe — a grudge, held gently. Every essay, painting, and object here is one small act of rebuilding a library from a perspective it was never written for, and refusing to wait for permission to call it philosophy.

Chicana Hippie is not a wellness brand and it's not an academic project. It's a research desk, a studio, and an open argument — built by an artist who got tired of philosophy staying locked in rooms most people were never invited into.
Nicolasa Soul makes paintings, collage, and literary objects, and writes essays that treat old questions — about suffering, selfhood, timing, inheritance, and power — like they're still worth arguing about, because they are. She works across philosophy, astrology, consciousness studies, and ancestral knowledge, translating dense ideas into something you can actually use on a Tuesday.
The Chicana perspective isn't a theme applied on top — it's the lens the whole project is built through: living between languages, between belief systems, between what was inherited and what still needs to be built. Nepantla, not aesthetic.
Why This Exists
Because philosophy got cornered into universities. Because astrology got flattened into a personality quiz. Because ancestral knowledge got either erased or turned into a trend. Chicana Hippie exists to put these things back in conversation with each other, and with your actual life — and to turn what comes out of that conversation into art.
