Latinas and Native Women, Named
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from the fifteenth of September to the fifteenth of October, and it mostly gets spent on food, music and a flag emoji. This one is spent on names instead.
The women I talk about here are Latinas and Native American women — Apache women and Chicanas among them — whose thinking, organising and making belongs in the record and mostly isn’t. Same argument as everything else on this site: the erasure was never about the quality of the work.
